Travel Press Awards


The very best in travel writing, photography and broadcasting were honoured at the inaugural Travel Press Awards, held at the Courthouse Doubletree Hotel in London on 26 November.

The event was attended by a discerning audience of over 150 top travel writers and journalists, broadcasters, photographers, editors and senior executives of some of the leading travel businesses in the UK.

Creators of the awards, Kingley Event Management enlisted the support of both senior travel industry executives and senior travel editors to judge an overwhelming 500 plus nominations and entries to the awards ranging from national newspapers, consumer and trade titles, online travel titles, travel guide books and both television and radio programmes.

15 awards were presented along with Awards for Outstanding Contribution to Travel Journalism to John Carter, Nigel Coombs, Roger Bray, Peter Hughes and David Wickers.
