The British Travel and Hospitality Industry Hall of Fame
The British Travel and Hospitality Industry Hall of Fame was created in 1995, to 'honour excellence and outstanding achievement in those who have played a significant part in creating and developing the travel, hospitality and tourism industry'.
This year the Awards Dinner will be held on Tuesday 17 April at The Savoy in London. The 2011 Hall of Fame Members who were honoured at the Annual Dinner were:
- Marilyn Carlson Nelson, Chairman - Carlson
- Micky Arison, Chairman of the Board & CEO - Carnival Corporation
- Jim French CBE, Chairman and CEO - Flybe
- Christopher Rodrigues CBE - Chairman - VisitBritain
The 2011 Hall of Fame Ambassador Award for Outstanding Contribution to Sustainable Travel was presented to Amanda Wills, Managing Director - Virgin Holidays.
The Hall of Fame Business Achievement Award was presented to Willie Walsh, Chief Executive Officer - International Airlines Group.
The winner of the Young Manager of the Year Award was Tom O'Connor, Head of Sales - Travelzoo.
The finalists of the Young Manager of the Year Award were:
- Fiona Brankin, Regional Manager (South East) - Co-operative Travel
- Gemma Antrobus, Managing Director - Haslemere Travel
- Matthew Hall, Product Director - Lowcost Travel Group
The winner of the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award was James Cole, Co-founder and Director of Cruise 118.
The finalists for the Young Entrepreneur Award were:
- Ben Morison, Managing Director - Imagine Africa
- Jennifer Atkinson, CEO - International Travel Connections
- Greg Marsh, Co-Founder & CEO - Onefinestay
